Bonne Nuit to St Ouen’s Bay Another two days of rest and recuperation left us both feeling eager to continue on our quest to walk around Jersey during our ten day holiday. Today was day eight so we were leaving it late if we wanted to complete the whole thing, but by now we were over half way with 29 of the 48 miles done. Gorey to Bonne Nuit: After the walk we did a few days ago we had both struggled with our feet but the blisters on Leanne’s little toes were much worse than anything I had, and as they were feeling better after a few days rest, we decided to do a little more of the coastal path.

St Brelade’s Bay to Gorey: We were finally here at the Golden Sands Hotel, St Brelade’s Bay in Jersey. We had been looking forward to a break for so long and now we had ten whole days to do whatever we chose to recharge the batteries that are worn down with everyday life. After a good sleep the night before we were up nice and early and after taking full advantage of the vast breakfast options we stuck on our walking boots and prepared for a walk.

Sulber, Moughton & Smearsett Scar from Horton in Ribblesdale: We returned to Horton only two weeks after our sponsored three peaks walk to tackle three trig points once again. This time they would be much lower level and not as demanding as Pen y ghent, Whenside and Ingleborough and because of this we had a reasonable turn out especially as the weather forecast was mixed.

Pen y ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough from Horton in Ribblesdale: Six weeks ago I said I would never, ever do the three peaks again. But something drew me back. I told myself that it was the weather that had made it hard, and that on a nicer day it would be a different experience altogether…
