Walk 25: Under The Cosh

Horse Head & Cosh Outside from Halton Gill: It was after midnight when I got to sleep last night so I felt a little tired when the alarm went off at 6.20am, but I was soon up and about and as usual and looking forward to the forthcoming adventure. Today’s excursion was taking in two trig points from Halton Gill, which was used for the last years Jamie Oliver/Sainbury’s Christmas ad apparently.

Walk 24: Moor Haste, Less Speed

Conistone Moor from Kettlewell: I awoke as usual to the sound of Ennio Morricone’s famous “The Good The Bad & The Ugly” music and hit the snooze button. We hadn’t done a Sunday walk in a while and after a couple more taps on the snooze button I had to get up as time was pushing on.

Walk 23: Loafing Around

Rye Loaf Hill from Malham: Never again! Never again am I going out the night before a walk, or at least not until I forget how much difference it made to getting up. I wasn’t rough as such but I didn’t have the spring in my step I usually have when it is time to ramble.

Walk 22: Blea(ve) It or Not

Blea Moor from Ribblehead: It only seemed like a few weeks since we were at Ribblehead to finish our Yorkshire tops challenge, but it had been nearly five months. We prepared for the off in thick mist and things weren’t looking too clever weather wise. The little bit of rain we had on the journey had stopped and the forecast was for a dry day but it didn’t look like we would get to see much of the surrounding scenery.

Walk 21: Short Sharp Shock!

Sharpah from Gargrave: This was meant to be the first walk of 2011 taking place on 2nd January, hence the walk title. Unfortunately I was struck down with the dreaded “man flu” or something even worse over New Year so the walk had to be postponed. We began this year’s walking last weekend although the turnout was only three and I was unsure if this walk would be any better.
