Walk 34: Sponsored Yorkshire Three Peaks – Sir Edmund

Pen y ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough from Horton in Ribblesdale: The day had finally arrived, and after nearly six months of waiting the Rambling Badgers sponsored walk was about to take place. I was up shortly after 4.30am and got ready and forced a bit of brekkie down before I jumped in the car to pick a couple of other people up.

Walk 33: Less is Moor

Kilnsey Moor from Kilnsey: Again it had been a lengthy gap in between walks and I was itching to get going as we pulled into the lay-by just near Kilnsey Crag and prepared for the off. Today wouldn’t be particularly tough but it would certainly feel good to get the legs ticking over again as we ticked off another trig point.

Walk 32: Triggy in the Middle

Middlesmoor Pasture from Kettlewell: I had planned this walk in a couple of months in advance as I do with most of our walks. The reason behind this is as everyone has busy social lives it gives them chance to plan around the walking if they want. On the flip, it gives people plenty of time to find something to do should they not want to walk, although surely nobody would want to do that today.

Walk 29: Fairfield Horseshoe

Nab Scar, Heron Pike, Great Rigg, Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag, High Pike & Low Pike from Ambleside: Saturday 14th May 2011 was the day we would finally get to retrace some of AW’s steps as we made our first venture in the Lake District. I had been both excited and nervous about this day but it was a day that had to come. There are 214 so called Wainwright’s and that was a list that had to be taken on at some point.
