Walk 48: Kings & Queens of the Castle
Castle Crag from Rosthwaite: Day three of our “Wainwright weekend” began at a more relaxed pace than the first two days. The reason for this was more to do with the agreement made the previous night that we would take stock in the morning, rather than the late start be forced on us due to hangovers.

Walk 47: Saddle Up
Bowscale Fell, Bannerdale Crags, Mungrisdale Common, Blencathra & Souther Fell from Mungrisdale: My legs were a little stiff after the previous days excursion, but I felt good to go as we had some breakfast at Badger Towers whilst deciding on the route for today. The weather forecast for the weekend had suggested it would get worse with each passing day but the local news the night before had offered some hope.

Walk 46: Kid You Knott
The Knott, Rampsgill Head, High Raise & Kidsty Pike from Hartsop: At Easter last year the Badgers spent the four day weekend walking the 52 miles of the Herriot Way and having a great time in the process. As that was such a success we had decided six months ago that we would do something this Easter too.

Walk 30: The Langdale Pikes
Thorn Crag (not intended), Loft Crag (almost), Pike o’ Stickle, Harrison Stickle, Thunacar Knott & Pavery Ark from New Dungeon Ghyll: Two weeks earlier we had started our Lake District adventure with a wonderful visit to walk the Fairfield Horseshoe, but today’s walk seemed even more impressive each time I researched it on the internet during the build-up.
