The Bull Hotel – Sedbergh (2nd Visit)

Visit two to the Bull Hotel followed our aborted trip up the Howgills. Well to be fair, we did 5 out of the 8, and although we were booked in for another stopover, plans to complete the remaining three peaks on our list on the Sunday were scuppered by our kit being absolutely soaked through!

So morale was a little down when we checked into the Bull Hotel. But fear not, all showered and cleaned, we met in the bar and bagged a couple of tables just a stagger or two away from the bar. Our spirits were at once raised, and after several beers, it was decided that an Indian would suffice for supper.

Now the good thing about small towns with a main street is the close proximity of everything, thus meaning the ladies could walk to the Taj Mahal (surely there is one in EVERY town called this…) and bring the menus back, which we then perused at leisure over a couple more beverages! After the curry, and with the bar still open, we ordered a nightcap, leaving the troops tired but very happy. A much more pleasant stay than our previous visit, quite probably due to fact we could get leathered and not worry about driving straight home after a swift one.

Oh and another great full English had by all, well all except Sir Edmund, who lead the way by having the Big Bull Breakfast, basically double everything plus beans, and it was gone in no time. Good spot to stay. Sir Edmund paid his way (for once…)
