The Sportsman’s Inn – Cow Dub

Having started and finished today’s walk from Dent Station, we had noticed the Sportsmans Inn en route and narrowly passed up the temptation to sample their ales there and then!

Good job in hindsight, as there was no way the troops would have scaled the half mile climb back up that hill to Dent Station weighed down by a pint or two! So back down by car (a few parking spaces at the rear folks so all good!), we finally frequented the Sportsman, and again it had a good number of locals enjoying their Saturday afternoon fill, which is always a good sign.

A lovely remote country pub we had found, and as tales of the walk were shared, a few opportune snaps were taken, and lo and behold ‘kettles for heads’ was born (see bottom pic). A very pleasant hostelry, although can’t comment on the prices as Sir Edmund paid…
