Ye Olde Mustard Pot – Midhopestones

Ye Old Mustard Pot_pub
It is hard to write a review of the Ye Olde Mustard Pot as we saw so little of it, but what we did see looked nice. No sooner had we gone through the door than we were confronted with the bar, which as anyone who knows me will realise, is not a bad thing 🙂 I stuck my head round to the left and found that all the tables had reserved signs on them so went down a little ramp to another room where again all the tables had reserved signs, leaving just one table next to the bar for us. I can only assume that Sunday lunch time is always busy, which is a sign that the food is spot on. We made do with 5 bowls of chunky chips which were homemade and delicious.

We stayed for an hour or so in total with the real log fire crackling away behind us ensuring it was nice and warm. I got the impression that it was more of an eating place rather than a drinkers pub, but that assumption is solely based on the fact all tables were reserved. At any other time than Sunday lunch it may give off a different impression. Not that I am saying we were unhappy, but I would have been disappointed had we arrived and that one spare table was already taken.
